Functional shifts in weed community composition following adoption of conservation agriculture

چکیده
To better understand the changes in weed communities following adoption of conservation agriculture (CA), we investigated functional composition fields implementing CA continuously from 1 to 21 years. Weed surveys were conducted 100 winter wheat 53 farmers Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, Eastern France. Ten response traits selected highlight communities, using weighted mean value for quantitative and an approach based on analysis qualitative traits. Out 10 traits, four impacted by time significantly, whereas two only showed trends. Specific leaf area, dry matter content, seed dispersal mode soil seedbank longevity did not change over CA, observed plant type, Raunkiær's life forms, Ellenberg's indicator light and, germination flowering periods. Phanerophyte geophyte summer-germinating species spring- summer-flowering increased with CA. Shade-tolerant species, present recently converted established later. Community-weighted mass percentage graminoids tended increase Some shifts occurred quicker than others (i.e., after at least years continuous application principles). These results can be used inform moving towards about expected changes.

Shifts in the Microbial Community Composition of Gulf Coast Beaches Following Beach Oiling
Microorganisms associated with coastal sands serve as a natural biofilter, providing essential nutrient recycling in nearshore environments and acting to maintain coastal ecosystem health. Anthropogenic stressors often impact these ecosystems, but little is known about whether these disturbances can be identified through microbial community change. The blowout of the Macondo Prospect reservoir ...

Figure S1. Dendrogram illustrating the bacterial community composition relationships among prevalence groups. An average-group linkage dendrogram is illustrated for the core ($75% of samples), resident (25-75% of samples), and transient (,25% of samples) OTU communities for exposed sand (left) and water (right) samples. See methods for category breakdown details. The mean OTU composition is rep...

due to the conservational agriculture as a factor of increasing food security and sustainable agriculture, understanding the determinant factors in the farmers' decision making to enhance adoption scale of conservational agriculture, is quite important. therefore, the current study attempted to investigate the effective factors and barriers to agricultural technology adaption among the whe...
متن کاملWeed Dynamics during Transition to Conservation Agriculture in Western Kenya Maize Production
Weed competition is a significant problem in maize (Zea mays, L.) production in Sub-Saharan Africa. Better understanding of weed management and costs in maize intercropped with beans (Phaseolus vulgaris, L.) during transition to conservation agricultural systems is needed. Changes in weed population and maize growth were assessed for a period of three years at Bungoma where crops are grown twic...
متن کاملDrastic historic shifts in bumble-bee community composition in Sweden.
The species richness of flower-visiting insects has declined in past decades, raising concerns that the ecosystem service they provide by pollinating crops and wild plants is threatened. The relative commonness of different species with shared ecological traits can play a pervasive role in determining ecosystem functioning, but information on changes in abundances of pollinators over time is la...
